IE 9 and Adobe Acrobat Reader: No Save For You!

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

One of our users called us today and let us know about this one... if you use Internet Explorer 9 and Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can't save your project summaries from the browser window.

Unfortunately, this isn't something that we can fix. Both Microsoft and Adobe are aware of the issue and are working to find a solution. In the meantime, Microsoft has posted the following workaround to their Knowledge Base:

  1. Start Adobe Reader, and on the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. From the Categories list, click Internet, and then click to clear the Display PDF in browser check box.
  3. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
  4. Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then restart Internet Explorer.

As always, you do have the option of switching browsers to Firefox or Chrome or any other browser for that matter... it is our experience that these two browsers are a bit more dependable. For more info on browsers and LoopLink, check out the related post Browsers and LoopLink.
